I love playing it, creating it, hearing it.  It makes me feel, helps me heal, feeds my head and fills my heart.  It is a kind of alchemy for the soul. As a young boy I remember singing songs with my family, mom’s piano lessons, and listening to music at night under the covers with my transistor radio.  I didn’t know it at the time, but music was flooding my brain and changing its chemistry.  I do realize now that I can’t live without it. And although my background is in film, I have always created music and sound design for my films.  After becoming a father in 2017, I switched my focus from film to music.

I have created music that has been used in the documentary film The New Corporation: The Unfortunately Necessary Sequel, and the TV Series British Columbia, An Untold History. Currently, I am working on a number of new compositions which you can find on this site.

I have degrees in Film, Creative Writing and Visual Art. I have written and directed one award winning feature film and a number of short films and film installations. I’ve also taught Filmmaking at the University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University and Vancouver Film School. I live in north Burnaby - the hən̓̓qəmin̓əm̓ and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh speaking peoples territory - close to the rainforest and the ocean, with my partner Patricia, and our seven year old son, Theo.

I love music.
